Santorum a man of prayer, principle
She tells us that Rick Santorum is not fit to be our Republican nominee because he mentioned Satan in a speech he gave in 2008 to a religious institution. Rick Santorum is a man of principle and belief. He actually believes the Bible, and to Mona Charen that might be deplorable for a presidential candidate, but to me and many Americans, that is a breath of fresh air. The concept of good and evil is not a new thing, nor is it exclusive to Christianity. Almost all cultures have a belief in that which personifies good, and that which personifies evil. Rick Santorum has the guts to express it and that bothers her. George Washington once said, "It is impossible to rightly govern the world without God and the Bible." He also wrote in his personal prayer book, "I beseech Thee to defend me this night from all evil ?" I?m just glad that Mona Charen wasn?t around when we were looking for our first president, otherwise we may have never been given the greatest example of what a leader should be, a God fearing man of prayer and principle. Rick Santorum is such a man, and will have my support in the primaries. Kevin Wesley Wooten Hamptonville
After reading Mona Charen?s column in Saturday?s edition of the R&L, I can?t help but think that her type of attitude is what is wrong with this country.
